Hello –  my name is Daina and I'm an experienced freelance graphic designer, brand strategist, and artist.

With over 10 years in the industry, my approach is to design a visual story and bring your message into practical design. Thoughtfully crafting your company's identity by providing creative direction with a purpose, fresh approach, and brightness. 

How I ended up as a designer:

From a young age my path was pretty clear – and it was not design. I had planned a career in science and loved cooking. When I was 16, I worked the line at a french restaurant and interned at NOAA (National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration). I was set be to a Meteorologist and even picked out the college program. In my Senior year at Community High, I took a newspaper class with Tom Dodd and it is fair enough to say that he change my path. The week it was my chance to be the editor I handed back the most thoughtful layout. I worked hard at it, it was a puzzle I couldn’t stop trying to solve. After the second time being editor, Tom stopped me in the hall before class and said “I have only said this twice before – this should be your career.” And here I am many years later. 

I went to college at Kendall College of Art and Design and fell in love with concept development, logo, and brand design. After college, I worked for the Ann Arbor Observer and then started a corporate career in branding for over seven years. In 2014, I decided to start my own business and have been happy and successful so far. 

My favorite things:

I begin work with a fresh pot of coffee in my Chemex. My daily inspiration flows from strong coffee, bright colors, music, nature, the beach, traveling, watercolor, hand lettering and the love of story telling through art and typography.
